Gorillaz, formed in 1998 by musician Damon Albarn and artist Jamie Hewlett, from London. The band primarily consists of four fictional members: 2-D, Murdoc Niccals, Noodle, and Russel Hobbs. Their universe is presented in music videos, interviews, comic strips and short cartoons.

Time to dive deep into the emerging amazing world of Augmented Reality, Gorillaz has shared an “augmented reality show”, featuring performances in iconic landmarks, London’s Piccadilly Circus, and New York’s Times Square. The band announced these shows earlier this month, asking fans and  Gorillaz followers to download an app, to watch the performances.

Directed by Gorillaz co-founder Hewlett and Emmy-nominated director Fx Goby, with the release of their eighth studio album, Cracker Island, which is set to drop on February 24th, 2023.

All the shows can be watched by downloading the app here, and visiting either Piccadilly Circus or Times Square
